If you’re anything like me, you like to try to cram as much as possible into one day. Whether it is going to work and then the gym and then running errands or it is trying to knock out some errands and then going on a date. Sometimes it might be trying to grab lunch with a friend and then spending time with your significant other. No matter what you have jammed pack for the day (even if it involves never leaving the couch) you want to feel a little more alive and you want to waken your face up with a simple makeup look. And let’s be honest, more extravagant looks don’t always go with everything you have planned for the day. So, I am going to go over a few simple looks you can try out that can match every mood and every occasion life may throw at you that day.
I will be starting out with the most simple of them all. This one is simply for something to just bring your face alive and keep it looking bright and awake all day throughout everything you have to do. Simply perfect for working from home turns to running errands turns to cooking dinner at home. Busy day but nothing you need to dress to the nines for.
Three ideas for keeping it simple are
- Just putting on foundation and concealer
Keep it real but keep it simple. Put on the base of your makeup. Put on just your foundation or concealer or cover up. Anything you would put on your face just to make your skin look awake and alive. This will give you a very simple beauty. This is perfect for people who feel that they can’t leave the house without makeup but don’t have anywhere to be or do and just want to do something simple. This can also be perfect for a day working from home with only a quick errand afterwards.
- A little foundation mixed with a subtle eye.
When you add a very light and subtle color to your eyes, this can help make you look more awake by brightening up your eyes but not bringing a lot of attention to the bags you might still have under them. This is another perfect no makeup makeup look. This combo is perfect for when you want to feel alive during the day even though you barely slept at night and definitely overslept this morning. This combo works for a quick day in the office and running a few errands afterwards or picking up the kids from school and not having Karen judge you for the 12th time this week because you always look like you haven’t slept in a year. Adding a little bit of color to your eyes can pull in the whole look and make for a little peppier you, getting through all the boring meetings.
- Creating a full, yet light face, with foundation, a very subtle eye, and throwing in a nude or a light pink lip gives the even color that every face truly desires.
This simple look differs by adding a slight tint to your already plush lips. Even if you are that person that feels their makeup look is incomplete without that pop of color to their lips or you just want to add a little bit of color to your lips, this look is for you. This is for everyone that, even on simple makeup days, need to add some beauty to every part of their face. Adding a very simple lip can make your entire face come alive. This is a perfect look for the busy woman who gets everything done in a day and still has about 5 minutes to add some color to their face.
Three Ideas if you want to try… but not too hard
The next set of potential makeup looks to last all day, require a little more time in the morning to get ready and might be more beneficial for those who have a little more going on after work in which they want to look a little more presentable.
- Sticking with pinks
Create a face full of pink. Throw some foundation on, add some blush, rosey red lips, and a nice skin brightening pink of the eyes. Pinks are super neutral tones and are perfect for an all day bringing your face alive and bouncing from task to task and activity to activity.
- Sticking with browns
Doing a full face of browns might give you the same vibe as a face of pink. However, sometimes browns go more with your look and your personality. Maybe you want a full face of makeup and you like trying out different colors more but you don’t have anywhere you’re going where you feel like you want people to automatically look at you and think of a bright bubbly personality. Or maybe, you just love the way subtle browns look on you. Or maybe the fall months give you more of that vibe. Sticking with browns can be your foundation, a nice brown or burgundy or dark nude lip thrown with a few different shades of brown on the eyes.
- Full face but subtle lips and no eyeliner
This last set is for those who don’t mind a full face of makeup expressing yourself throughout the day. These looks are for you if you have a night out on the town after a busy day or a fun date in which you want to dress to impress. Or simply a fun face of makeup for those who express themselves through beauty and makeup.Throw on any color you want to make this look yours. The only thing missing from this look is eyeliner. Leave the eyes a little subtle and mysterious. Showcase you and who you want the world to see you as but still leave a little mystery behind it. This last set is for those who love a full face and love expressing themselves through makeup and go throughout their days with a bold face. Express yourself and try something new. These looks are for those who have busy busy days and still put in the effort to express themselves. Going from work (or working from home) to errands, to meetings, to a night out on the town. Expressing who you are all day long and the only thing you’re shedding is some of that glitter off your fabulous face.
- Dark or smokey look
The first full face, more out there show who you really are look, is a dark and mysterious or a smokey eye. I am obsessed with a smokey look and definitely went an embarrassingly long time only doing a smokey look, that was a completely different phase of my life. Smokey looks always have a place in my heart. Perfect for those who love this look and love a full face of makeup that might take them 30 minutes or more some days. Perfect for busy days but nothing you care about looking extremely preppy for. Full face of foundation with a grey or purple or darker smokey eye and a darker lip, either a dark red or pink or a dark brown or purple, something to tie the whole look together.
- Full face with a touch of glitter
Adding a touch of glitter to your look can brighten you and your day. The only downside is you might be finding glitter in places where glitter shouldn’t be, but nothing wrong with leaving a little trail of sparkle wherever you go. A little bit of glitter on the eyes can give your eyes a sparkle and an illusion that you are so much more awake than you really are. This is great for an awake all day and all night illusion even though you’re doing 20 hours worth of stuff on 4 hours of sleep. Create that full face for work or errands and add some glitter which might impress your girls or your date at night or create a perfect night out at the clubs or a concert to end the night.
Bringing in bright and neon
For all my bright ladies out there, this one’s for you. For all my lovers of neon and can pull it off and be in settings where it’s appropriate, add some neon to your lips or your eyes to make you look out there and slaying the day in a way everyone else wishes they could. Create a full face of makeup, add some neon pink or electric purple or blue to your eyes or hot pink to your lips to make the color pop. this bringing bright and neon to your look is perfect for working from home or the office if you want to bring some light into your day and bringing sunshine with you everywhere you go and everything you do for the rest of the day. Wear bright blues or pinks or purples or add some white liner to your eyes or lips. Brightening up any look can keep you looking like a ray of sunshine even after the sun goes down.
